Types of local venues;

Pubs (the white horse, the doctors tonic etc) - small/ medium 
Clubs (forum, glow club 85 etc) - small/medium/large 
Arena ( O2, Wembley etc) - Large 
Concert halls ( Monks Walk A block hall and Drama studio, Campus west etc)  

Health and safety at a venue;

Fire hydrants

Security

No drugs as it is illegal and influences other people and makes people not think about there actions.

No drinks on the dancefloor so there will be no people slipping on the floor so less injuries and less chance of spills on electric equipment

Check for faulty electrics so there will be no fires or bad sound quality etc

Easy access and plenty of fire exits so if there is a fire there will be enough for everyone to evacuate the building quickly and safely

No drinks near electrics so that no fires can be caused that aren't controlled (E.G pyrotechnics) 

No wires or cables showing/as trip hazards so people cant fall over and break bones or pull equipment of stage into the audience

Medical supplies nearby at all times so if anyone has any serious injuries they can be treated immediately until ambulance arrives
Venue capacity- if there are too many people then more security will be needed to stop fights or drug use etc and also there will be people getting trampled etc
Pyrotechnics safety- make sure nothing can catch fire on stage or in the audience
If the music is too loud then it can damage eardrums and cause deafness or tinnitus 

Venue Questions;

What is the person limit for the venue
How many fire exits are there and where are they
Is there an alcohol limit you sell per night
What is the age limit to get into the venue
What types of security do you have
Do you have medical equipment and if so where

How do you deal with drug situations/fights etc
What sort of music/bands play here
